This updated version borrows heavily from the 2011 Tricomp model, yet uses two rubber densities instead of three and a lower thread count in the casing. The tire's harder center rubber delivers decreased rolling resistance and long tread life, while the softer shoulders enhance grip in the turns.

The Curve Control System® has also been added to the rubber at the shoulder of the tire, this slight texture and water siping grooves improve handling in wet conditions; and Vredestein's Sportex Protection Layer® beneath the tread keeps keeps out sharp objects with minimal sacrifice to weight or speed.
