When shortening outer cables with cable cutters, the cable end is usually squeezed by the movement of the pliers. As a result, the inner cable sometimes gets stuck or moves very stiffly. The cable pricker helps make this cable end nice and round again so that your brake or shifting cable works optimally. It is compatible with both brake and derailleur cables.
