The sprockets of the Shimano Dura Ace were designed for using a Dura Ace 12-speed derailleur and crankset. They are made of highgrade materials.

The sprockets are made in different versions, from 34 to 54 teeth. These are designed for basic work, Shimano has developed a 'compact' as well. Compact sprockets have a smaller amount of teeth, usually around 34-50, making a smaller cassete possible, providing a wider range of gears.
