SPLIT SECOND OVERSIZED PULLEY WHEEL CARBON SRAM FORCE/RED 12 SPEED

The Split Second Ceramic Performance Cage System consists of a carbon cage and two 7075 aluminium derailleur wheels (14 & 17 teeth) with fully sealed ceramic bearings. This ceramic rear derailleur cage improves drivetrain efficiency which can save 4-5 watts in wattage compared to a conventional cage.

Made of extremely high-quality materials, it contains ultra-light carbon fibre and all-ceramic bearings with no seal. The two oversized aluminium derailleur wheels reduce chain bending angle and minimise friction.

Note: In this version, the CPC is compatible with SRAM AXS 12S RED/FORCE and SRAM AXS 12S RED/FORCE ETAP.

The Split Second Ceramic Performance Cage System consists of a carbon cage and two 7075 aluminium derailleur wheels (14 & 17 teeth) with fully sealed ceramic bearings.

Characteristics

  • Weight: 72 grams

  • Spared wattage: 4-5 watt (comparison with conventional cage)

  • For 12-speed

Necessary tools

For the installation of your Split Second Ceramic Performance Cage System, you’ll need the following tools:

  • Chain tools

  • T10 Torx screw driver

  • Philips screw driver nr.2

Installation

  • Step 1: Turn the SRAM-derailleur cage 90° and remove the screw from the bottom derailleur wheel with the help of a 3 mm Allen key

  • Step 2: Remove the screw from the top derailleur wheel and remove the inner cage plate

  • Step 3: Remove the screws from the derailleur wheels of the Split Second CPC using the 2,5 mm and 3 mm Allen keys and separate the inner cage (make sure the derailleur wheels and the spacer rings remain intact)

  • Step 4: Use the 4-teeth tool (included in the delivery of the CPC) and a 4 mm Allen key. Use this to remove the screw that’s in the top hole of the outer cage plate. Beware: make sure you hold the cage tight whilst executing this step, the spring will loosen during this step.

  • Step 5: Detach the outer cage from the derailleur

  • Step 6: Make sure the middle screw in the hole of the derailleur with the flat surface points to the far most left. Mark the middle of the screw end with a pen to identify the flat surface on the bottom of the middle screw.

  • Step 7: Mount the outer cage plate of the Split Second CPC onto the derailleur spring with the black aluminum pen aimed away from the derailleur

  • Step 8: You can put the spring into one of the two holes of the outer plate: on the right for energy saving performances and on the left from better shifting efficiency.

  • Step 9: Place the mounting bolt on the outer plate of the derailleur hole and turn it firm in 1.5 turn with the help of the spline tools. The outer plate should stay loose.

  • Step 10: Turn the outer plate 360 degrees clockwise and press the plate further down until the screw on the cage plate lines up with the mark on the screw-thread (make sure the unit and outer derailleur plate are parallel during turning). You’ll notice that the derailleur cage will click into the correct position.

  • Step 11: Fasten the mounting bolt with the spline-tools with a maximum momentum of 6Nm.

  • Step 12: Install the 14T-derailleur wheel on the top place and the 17T-derailleur wheel on the bottom place of the CPC. Outline the inner plate of the cage and turn the silver screws on the inside.

  • Step 13: Your CPC in now installed and ready for use!

Follow this after installation

  • Check the standard setting of the high and low screws of the derailleur whilst shifting

  • Set the clamping screw as described in the delivered instructions

  • Check the setup of the rear derailleur and correct if necessary

Beware:

  • You have to install the Split Second Ceramic Performance Cage System with a new chain, considering a length difference can be possible because of the increased derailleur wheel sizes

  • The maximum we recommend, is the 32T cassette for optimal shifting

  • The guarantee for the CPC is 4 years

Maintenance

  • The CPC need meticulous maintenance considering the completely ceramic bearings are dry and need no lubricants to work. Clean and degrease the screws of the derailleur wheels every 750km to preserve optimal performance.
